Romans 6: 23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[b] Christ Jesus our Lord.
From the very first sin, when Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, death entered the human story. That day, God Himself sacrificed animals to cover their shame with skins, making it clear that sin is not a minor issue. It breaks communion with God and brings real consequences. The wages of sin is death—not just physical death, but a deep separation from the source of life.
Yet even in that moment, the heart of God was revealed. A heart full of grace, moved by compassion. God did not abandon humanity. Instead, He began to prepare a way for restoration. And at the right time, He sent His Son, who died in our place so that we would not have to die eternally, but live forever in His presence.
What God offers us is not a reward for getting things right. It is an undeserved gift: eternal life. A life that begins here and now, when we receive Jesus and walk with Him. It is not a burden but an invitation to live fully, sustained by His love.
Let us pray:
Lord, thank You for offering me life when all I had ahead of me was death. Thank You for giving Your Son to save me and fill me with hope. Today I want to live with the assurance that I belong to You. May Your love transform me, may Your grace sustain me, and may I walk each day in the new life You have given me. Amen.
